Sua's older sister. One comic in 2024, one birthday illustration in 2025, and — on 24 July 2026 — a full Zombie Stage design with character notes. She has never sung a note, and she is still one of the most quoted characters in the fandom, because she is the one who explains what the snow at Anakt Garden is made of.

Alien Stage — the pet garden
In the main series, Sua does not grow up in a family. She and Hia are kept by Nigeh, a Segyein who dresses her humans alike and calls herself Mother. Hia is the older one: she was the favourite first, lost the position at some point — the wiki links it to the injury that blinded her left eye — and spent her adult years in that house alone, caring for the younger sister who replaced her. One day she disappeared, with no explanation given on screen or in text. Her status has never been resolved.
Everything we hear from her comes from one 12-page comic, Heavenly Garden, posted on the official account on 2 October 2024. It is Korean-only; the translations below are ours, kept short, and the pages themselves stay where VIVINOS put them.

The garden, years earlier. Hia fusses over a small Sua — “you should keep your hair tidy”, “so careless…” — straightens her collar, then tickles her: “that won't do, Sua needs a scolding.” Over the two of them, adult Sua's narration: “You were the only person I had back then. Which is exactly why you frightened me.”

Sua has been chosen for Anakt Garden. She chatters about it — ten more sleeps and they set off, Mother seems pleased, she is pleased — while Hia corrects the way she wiggles her toes. Sua: “Ah… I won't do it again.” Hia, softening: “Ugh, you're cute.” Then, not softening at all: “But your sister is worried.”

The warning, and the most quoted thing Hia has ever said. In a hellish place like that, she tells her, a clumsy fool like Sua will just drop dead. And: “Over there, they say corpses come down out of the sky.” When a weak child dies, they burn the body, throw open the lid of the sky and scatter it over the children who are still alive — “like snowflakes.” She finishes smiling, one eye dead and white: “What if you just drop dead? Poor thing, Sua.”

Black pages. Sua's narration: those words made her childhood more frightening, and she imagined dropping dead more times than she can count. “But if I ever meet you again, there is something I want to tell you.” “That you were wrong.” “The pitiful one was probably you.”

Anakt Garden. “Far from hell…” — and a blonde girl in round glasses leans into frame, pointing, delighted: “Found you! Snowflake doll!” It is the first time anyone has called Sua anything but a pet.

The answer, delivered from the worst possible moment: “Where else is there a paradise as intoxicating as this?” The last page is Sua's throat opening in a spray of red, and the line finishes over it — “so you were wrong.”
Why it matters
Hia's warning is the origin of two things the series never stops using. The snow at Anakt Garden — pretty, constant, everywhere in the background of Round 1 — is the ash of dead children. And Sua's nickname, Snowflake Doll (눈꽃인형), is what Mizi shouts when she finds her: a girl named after the falling ash by the only person who made the place bearable. Sua's answer to her sister — you were wrong — is delivered over her own death.
The one other place she turns up is an official illustration posted on Sua's birthday, 22 December 2025: Hia holding a small wrapped gift out of a child Sua's reach and asking her to choose — “do you like Mizi, or do you like Hia-unnie?” Sua: “B-both…” Hia: “You have to pick one~”. It is a joke, and it is also the entire relationship in three bubbles.
Zombie Stage — the 24 July 2026 reveal
On 24 July 2026 the official account posted two images with no caption but the tags #ZOMST #좀비스테: a solo illustration of Hia as an adult in present-day clothes, and a dense page of character notes and short scenes. There is no episode, no song and no release date attached to it — it is a character sheet, and it is the first time the AU has given Sua a family at all.
What the notes say
- →Adopted; the eldest daughter of the house. Sua is the biological one.
- →A flight attendant, hired on her parents' connections.
- →“If you get on her bad side she becomes a problem.”

- →She has spent her whole life using the adoption as leverage over her younger sister.

What the scenes show
- Hia, gentle, ruinous: “Sua — everyone has a place of their own, you know? The people who turn away from theirs all live hard lives.”
- She notices something new of Sua's. “What's that? Did Dad buy it for you?” — “Ah… no, from my part-time job.” — “Dad really is too much, just because I'm not his real blood~” — “…Do you want it, sis?”
- Sprawled on Sua's bed: “Are you seeing someone? You've gone thin. It's a boy, right?” Sua: “It's a girl.” And then, quieter: “And it isn't like that with Mizi…”
- A first meeting with Mizi that opens “So you're the one? Nice to meet you~ I'm Sua's mum ^^” and lands, a beat later, on “ugh, what's that smell — does your father run a fish shop?” Off-panel, Sua: “Sis…”
- A wedding. Hia in the veil, Sua next to her in grey, holding the bouquet, thinking: “You're sickeningly beautiful, sis…”
The sheet ends on a footnote: a few days later, Mizi and Hia come face to face.
The translations above are ours — the post is Korean-only and there is no official English version. Note what the AU keeps and what it drops. There is no Nigeh, no garden and no Segyein: the abuse is ordinary, legal and domestic, and the leverage is paperwork rather than ownership. The scar stays. The younger sister who cannot say no stays. So does the pattern Ache spends nineteen pages on from the other side — Sua giving away whatever she is asked for, to whoever asks.

Her sister
Sua
Sua is Mizi's opponent in Round 1 of Alien Stage and the first contestant the series kills. She loses "My Clematis" to the person she loves. In Zombie Stage she loses Round 1 again — by one point — and her arm is cut off and sold to the audience.

FAQ
Who is Hia in Alien Stage?
Hia (희아) is Sua's older sister and, like Sua, one of the Segyein Nigeh's kept pet-humans. She appears in the 2024 comic Heavenly Garden, where she warns Sua that Anakt Garden is hell and that the snow there is the ash of dead children. Her status is unknown — the wiki records that she disappeared one day with no explanation.
Is Hia blind?
She is blind in her left eye. Official art draws a vertical scar through it; in the Zombie Stage notes VIVINOS added that she covers the scar when she is at work.
Is Hia in Zombie Stage?
Yes, as of 24 July 2026. VIVINOS posted a two-image set on the official ALIEN STAGE account: a solo illustration of an adult Hia in modern dress, and a page of character notes and scenes placing her in the Zombie Stage AU as Sua’s adopted older sister. It ends with a caption promising that Mizi and Hia meet a few days later.
Is Hia the same as Hee-ah?
Yes. 희아 gets romanised both ways; the official illustration posted on Sua’s birthday in December 2025 is titled “HEE-AH!”. The ALIEN STAGE Wiki redirects Hee-ah to Hia.
Does Hia have a song?
No. She has never sung, in either universe, and has no OST credit.
