Zombie Stage Comic & Fan Translations: Where to Read
The Zombie Stage companion comic by VIVINOS lives on Patreon. This is the field guide to the official source, verified community English / Spanish / Chinese / Japanese translations, and how to spot re-uploads that mistranslate.
Alongside the video Rounds, VIVINOS publishes a Zombie Stage companion comic. It runs on a slower cadence than the OST drops but expands the arena’s backstory in ways the videos do not. This is the field guide to the official source and the community translations worth trusting.
TL;DR
- Official: VIVINOS on Patreon. Primary release channel.
- English: community-run. r/AlienStage subreddit is the largest hub; small volunteer teams post per-page threads.
- Other languages: Spanish, Chinese and Japanese translations circulate in Discord and on Twitter/X.
- Do not trust anonymized Tumblr / Weibo re-uploads — misattributed pages get mistranslated pages.
The official comic (Patreon)
- patreon.com/vivinos — the primary release channel for every Zombie Stage comic page, plus previews, sketches and behind-the-scenes commentary.
- A rotating slice of pages is posted free, publicly, on VIVINOS’s Patreon feed and Twitter/X. Full sequential releases live behind Patreon tiers.
- The comic is untitled at time of writing. Fans commonly refer to it as “the Zombie Stage comic” or “VIVINOS’s ZS pages”. VIVINOS has said an official title will land closer to Round 2.
- The comic does not have a fixed schedule. Expect a burst of new pages around each Round drop, then a slower cadence in-between.
If you want to support the AU financially, Patreon is the direct channel. Every tier includes the comic; higher tiers include process shots and reference sheets that are worth it for anyone doing fan art.
What the comic covers
Content the comic has expanded on so far, and that the videos have not:
- Hyuna’s arena backstory. The oldest surviving zombie in the arena. Video Round 1 sets her up as the memory keeper; the comic has begun to explain how she has been in the arena longer than anyone else.
- The arena’s economy. Who runs it, how performers are “acquired”, and what the auction actually looks like from the buyer side. Round 1’s video ends at the auction — the comic starts there.
- Between-Round dressing room scenes. Small, character-driven pages. This is where most of the Mizi / Sua reunion beats live outside the OST.
- Isaac in the AU. Only sketched in the videos. The comic hints heavily at his role as stage manager.
None of the above is required to enjoy the video Rounds. All of it deepens what is on screen.
English translations
There is no official English release. The community versions worth following:
- r/AlienStage on Reddit — largest English-language hub. Look for posts tagged
[COMIC]or[ZOMBIE STAGE]. Verified translators use flair; ignore anonymous re-posts. - Alien Stage translator Discord servers. Two active servers coordinate weekly translation drops. Invites rotate — check the subreddit sidebar for the current link.
- Twitter / X: track
#zombiestageand#vivinoswith quote-tweet chains that credit the original Patreon page. Chains that don’t credit are usually re-uploads.
Rule of thumb: if a translated page does not link back to the original VIVINOS post, treat it as unverified. Machine-translated re-uploads have already introduced small errors that fandom-canon has partially absorbed — being source-strict matters.
Other languages
- Spanish (Español): community translations in Alien Stage Discord servers and pinned Twitter/X threads. Volume is high; quality varies. Cross-reference two translators when possible.
- Chinese (中文): Weibo and Bilibili host the largest CN-language fandom. Comic pages are typically translated within 48h of a Patreon drop. Bilibili also mirrors official YouTube uploads legally.
- Japanese (日本語): smaller but active community, primarily on Twitter/X. Alien Stage’s Japanese fandom has grown considerably with Zombie Stage; expect Round 2 to accelerate coverage.
If you maintain an active translation set in a language not listed here, mail us — we credit and link translation hubs when they source directly from VIVINOS’s Patreon.
How to avoid bad re-uploads
Three quick tests before trusting a comic page you found on the wider internet:
- Does it credit VIVINOS’s Patreon or Twitter/X post? If not, downgrade trust. VIVINOS actively watermarks pages, and legit translation groups keep the watermark visible.
- Do character names match this site’s spellings? Mizi, Sua, Till, Isaac, Hyuna, Luka. Any variant spelling (Mitzi, Sooa, Til, Hyona) is either an old machine translation or a re-upload chain that has drifted.
- Is the translated line consistent with the OST subtitles? VIVINOS’s YouTube subtitles are the single canonical English source. If a comic panel translation contradicts the subtitle for the same scene, prefer the subtitle.
None of these are perfect filters, but running all three catches most bad translations before they mislead you.
FAQ
The FAQ below covers the questions we get most about the comic — hit any row to expand.
Frequently asked
Is the Zombie Stage comic free? +
Partially. VIVINOS releases some pages publicly on Patreon and Twitter/X. The full sequential comic — including behind-the-scenes and early previews — sits behind Patreon tiers. All video Rounds themselves stay free on YouTube.
Where can I read the Zombie Stage comic in English? +
There is no official English release yet. Community translations circulate in the r/AlienStage subreddit and dedicated Discord servers. This page lists the ones that source the correct scans and stay in sync with new pages.
Is there a Spanish translation? +
Yes — community-run. Spanish translations circulate through Alien Stage Discord servers and Twitter/X. See the Other languages section below.
Does the comic spoil the video Rounds? +
Sometimes yes. VIVINOS uses the comic to expand character backstory and hint at future Round beats. If you are strict about spoilers, wait until each corresponding Round has aired.
Can I re-upload the comic to Tumblr / Weibo / Twitter? +
No — VIVINOS has explicitly asked fans not to re-host paid Patreon pages. Translations that overlay the original art are tolerated when they credit and link back; full re-uploads without credit are not.
